The
landscape fascinates me. Be it a sweeping vista or the minute structure
of the cell, realistic or abstract.
My
love of art began early with the Sunday funnies. I was mesmerized by how
they were drawn -- and how they expressed feelings and told stories. In
my university years I studied design and some fine arts. But over the
years, most of my art experiences have been limited to viewing, drawing-as-entertainment
and the occasional class.
Finally, in 1998 I took my first watercolor class. Here I re-learned the
basics and twice won awards for "Best of Show". This soon led
to Brookhaven's School of the Arts and to a more serious pursuit of art
and drawing. In 2004, I branched into acrylics, abstracts and larger formats.
I am still exploring technique. The challenges never cease.
